Email users will note that messages from persons outside of the company will be tagged as External.

Additionally, a tooltip will is shown under the Sender/Recipient information once the message is open.

The combination of the above is a security function of Outlook, Outlook Mobile, and the Mail App on Apple mobile devices. The Tag and Tooltip play an important role to help ensure that employees are aware that they are interacting with messages from potentially dangerous sources. This is especially useful when combatting spoofing and CEO/executive impersonation attacks.
Though we want employees to practice safe cyber security methods on all messages, regardless of it being internal or external, messages with the External tag will help you identify when a message is being sent by a potential imposter. If you see the External tag on a message received by any employee of HPG, you should stop interacting with the message and report it immediately using the Phish Alert button in Outlook or forward it to phishing@hpgbrands.com.
