Smart Banner: Sender Resembles An HPG Employee

HPG utilizes banners in email to help employees identify risks associated with email-based attacks that put themselves and the computer at risk. These banners are dynamic and there may be several prepended to a message at time. Employees should take additional cautions on messages containing banners. 


If a message is received from a sender who's name or address resembles one of HPG's employees the following banner will be displayed on the message:

Process

  1. Report the message immediately to IT unless you have verified the contact
  2. Carefully inspect the addresses and content of the message before replying, forwarding, or performing any other action on the message.
