UniFi Protect: Set Static IP Address on Camera
Issue
UniFi Protect does not let you set the Static IP Address for a device within the UniFi Management Console
Requirements
- Access to UniFi with permissions to view Devices and System settings
- Available IP Address within the Static IP Address Pool
Solution:
- Obtain the current IP Address of the Camera from UniFi

- Open a new tab in your browser and go to https://[ipaddress]
(replace [ipaddress] with the current IP address of the camera.)
- Dismiss the security warning complaining about an invalid ssl certificate. You should now see the login screen for the camera

- Go back to the UniFi Management Console. Go to Settings > System > Advanced

- Click Reveal under the Recovery code and copy the revealed code to your clipboard

- Go back to the camera's logon screen. Enter ubnt as the username. Paste the recovery code into the password field. Click Login

- Go to Network
- Set the Configuration Mode to Static
- Enter the Static IP Address, Netmask, Gateway, Primary DNS Server, and Secondary DNS Server for the camera.
note: before choosing a static IP address, it is your responsibility to verify said address is not already in use

- Click Save Changes
- Click Continue when prompted to verify

- You will then see the following message

If this message does not go away automatically, check to see if you can reach the camera at the new IP Address, either through HTTPS or by pinging the device. You should see the Camera show up in the UniFi console with the new IP Address within a couple minutes.
