OneDrive: Searching in OneDrive Web

Searching in OneDrive Web does not always return the results you are expecting, especially when you are searching shared folders. This is caused by an ongoing issue as Microsoft continues to migrate their user interface to a more modern one.

This guide will show you how to display search results in OneDrive web

Guide

Search for by keyword and then press enter to commit your search
Example: 6233952

This will likely show the following message in OneDrive
To view the desired search results, click "All files"

You should now see the results all the results based on the keyword you entered
You can get to the file by hovering over it, clicking on the 3 dots, and clicking on copy link
Paste the link into a new browser tab to open the file and then download it
