WiFi: Checking What Network Your Device is Connected To
Issue
This article will show you how you can check what network your device is connected to. There will be four sections that outline how to check this setting for Android, iOS, OS X, and Windows.
Solution
A. Android
Note: Android devices may not have identical ways of finding this information.
Go to your home screen
swipe down from the top right edge of your screen, where your signal and battery icons are found
You should see the WiFi connection name under the Wi-Fi icon
Another method is to Open your phones Settings > Connections. The name of the connection is shown under Wi-Fi
B. iOS
Applies to iPad and iPhones
Go to the Home screen
swipe down from the top right corner where your connections and battery icon are located
Press and hold your finger on the Wi-Fi icon until the wireless connections options appear
The network name will be shown under Wi-Fi in the Wi-Fi tile.
Another Method is to open Settings > Wi-Fi. The name of the network will be shown under Wi-Fi
C. OS X - Mac PC's
Look at the top-right corner of your screen.
Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar.
The currently connected network will be displayed at the top of the dropdown menu.
D. Windows 10 and Windows 11
Look at the bottom right corner of your display
click on the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray
The name of the connected network will be shown below the Wi-Fi icon
